What it actually does
A pimple injection places a tiny, measured dose of anti-inflammatory corticosteroid directly into a deep, cystic spot. It calms the inflammation at the source, so the swelling, redness and throbbing settle quickly — often noticeably flatter within 24 to 48 hours.
It is a targeted rescue for the occasional angry breakout, not a treatment for acne as a whole. Where breakouts are frequent or widespread, we will steer you toward a proper acne plan rather than chasing each spot with a needle.
What to expect
The injection itself takes only a few minutes, and most people feel little more than a quick pinch. There is no downtime — you can head straight back to your day. Over the next day or two the spot should soften and flatten.
Before we treat
A doctor assesses the lesion first and uses the smallest effective dose, because too much — or too often — can leave a temporary dent or lighten the skin. If a spot is better left alone, or points to something that needs a different approach, we will tell you.
