Treatment consent
Last updated TODO — date of counsel sign-off
This page explains, in advance, what you will be asked to consent to. It is published so that nothing at your appointment is a surprise. The document you sign in clinic is the operative one.
Informed consent
Before any treatment, your practitioner will explain, and you will have the chance to ask about:
- What the treatment does and how it works.
- What outcome is realistic for your skin, and over what timescale.
- The expected number of sessions and the total cost.
- Side effects that are expected, and complications that are possible but rare.
- The alternatives, including doing nothing.
- What aftercare is required, and what happens to the result if it is not followed.
You are consenting to a specific treatment on a specific date. Consent to one session is not consent to a course.
You can change your mind
You may withdraw consent at any point, including after a treatment has begun, and we will stop. TODO — state how this affects fees already paid.
Photography
Clinical photographs are taken as part of your record so that change can be assessed objectively. That is separate from permission to publish. We will never use your image in marketing, on this website or on social media without specific written consent, given separately, which you can revoke at any time.
Medical history
You are asked to disclose medications, conditions, allergies, prior treatments and whether you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Some of our treatments are unsafe in those circumstances, so an incomplete history is a safety risk rather than a formality.
If something goes wrong
Contact the clinic immediately on 0927 770 8969. Complications are uncommon and most resolve quickly when treated early. TODO — add out-of-hours contact arrangements.
